Adventure Challenge

YMCA Camping Services Annual Fundraiser

The Duluth Y Camping Services Branch and UMD Presents the

2nd Annual Adventure Challenge Fundraiser!

In cooperation with the Hank Fisher Campship Fund, money is collected through this event for all kids to attend summer camp!

Here's how it works:

Children (soon to be campers, those who have registered for camp) solicit donations from friends, family and neighbors to sponsor their participation in the challenge. The donations these children collect will help pay their way to a week of summer camp.

Children (any child, regardless of whether or not they are registered for camp) solicit donations from friends, family and neighbors to collect money to donate to our Campship Fund which helps scholarship any child who cannot afford a week at camp who has applied for assistance. Children can also sign up for the challenge at the event (although they will not receive a tshirt) and donate any amount of money to help our Campship Fund. Children can also compete in the Challenge at no charge... We just want kids to get active in the outdoors!

One of the best parts about this fundraiser is that we will be offering a $25 dollar matching fund! If you collect at least $25 to help earn your way to camp (for soon to be campers, who have registered for camp), camp will cover an additional $25 of your camp fee! (Don't stop at $25 though - we challenge each camper to try to earn their entire way to camp by asking sponsors to donate to your super cool and fun fundraiser!)

Once you are registered, your child can participate on May 3rd. Arrive at Park Point Beach House at 10:00 am. Announcements will be made prior to the start of the Challenge and all children will be set up to go through the course in different waves, depending upon the number of participants. Children run/walk from each event (Archery, Canoeing, Basic Camping Skills, Disk Golf, Slack Line, Hand Biking, Tie Dye, Fishing, Camp Crafts) where they will meet a UMD Student who will guide them through the activity. Upon completion of the Challenge, children will gather, eat lunch and then play a large game of Capture the Flag. This is a FANTASTICALLY FUN event that will get your child active and learning new skills! SIGN UP YOUR FRIENDS, bring a large group! Estimated end time is 2:30.

It's as easy as 1, 2, 3.

1. Register camper through this website as an RSVP to participate in the challenge (RSVP'ing comfirms participation and ensures participant receives a tshirt, if registered by April 18th)

2. Download the Pledge Form from www.ymcacampmiller.org and start collecting money to earn your way to camp.

3. Bring your collected funds to Park Point on May 3rd, register at the Beach House, make camp payment or donation and get ready for an awesome ADVENTURE CHALLENGE!
